Wedding on the Waterfront

This wedding season has started off really rainy. Most of the weddings call for a rain forecast and in turn, an emergency tent rental. I was afraid that Kendal and Chris' wedding would be the same, but we were so lucky with the weather! It was an absolutely stunning and 74 degree day on the waterfront of Lake Norman. Kendal and Chris held their ceremony and cocktail hour at Queen's Landing, a waterfront venue for dinner cruises, sight seeing, and entertainment because their reception was all on a boat causing around Lake Norman! That was the first time I've heard of a wedding reception on a boat, but it actually sounds perfect for this time of year in Charlotte.

Their wedding ceremony was held in a gazebo on the property overlooking the Lake Norman. This was the type of wedding where the breeze was so lovely, but I had to keep dampening my strings because the wind whistling through them made noise! A short and sweet wedding, everything was simple and elegant. Kendal's dress had an old-world charm lace feeling and their minister was one who has known Kendal since birth.

The cocktail hour was a few hundred feet away at the outdoor seating area. The couple specifically requested I play jazz standards for cocktail hour and I LOVED it! I never get the chance to play straight through all the wonderful Ray Pool jazz arrangements I have. I hope the guests enjoyed as much as I did!

Seating of the Mothers: Canon in D - Pachelbel

Flower girl and Bridesmaids: Dance of the Blessed Spirits - Gluck
